Julia Harvey is not only an Egyptologist, she is also a professional translator from Dutch to English and edits/corrects texts written in English by non-native speakers. Julia started as a freelance translator in 1990 and joined the KPN translation department in 1997. In 2001 she moved to the University of Groningen translation department (UVC) where she has been ever since. In 2004 Julia became a certified translator. Click here for her personal profile.
Her special interests are art history, Egyptology, higher education and educational terminology, although with over 20 years of experience, she can pretty much turn her hand to anything. Swiftly changing EU legislation and educational philosophies mean that terminology is changing rapidly, and to help translators keep abreast of these changes, the UVC has set up a terminology database specializing in higher education terms.
